The Alberta Government will release its 2022-2023 budget on February 24, 2022. The budget will likely reflect a transition from pandemic management and pandemic economic relief to objectives the government feels reflect people's concerns entering the spring 2023 election. It will also very likely reflect the massive turnaround in provincial finances, due in part to rapidly rising oil prices. A surplus is not out of the cards. Dr. Tombe of the University of Calgary will comment on the proposed budget initiatives and take questions.
